There are currently 1,000 planned protests for May Day!

WOW!

Updated info...there are 1,000 planned protests for MAY DAY!!!
https://www.democraticunderground.com/100220272067

Two days ago there were 794, yesterday there were 831 and now Sunday, 11:45 PM there are 1,000 protests planned.

There are even several protests in the same cities. This IS a big protest so check out both maps/links for current info.

Some areas are hosting multiple protests on May 1st as well as May 3rd and May 4th, it depends which local resistance groups are hosting events. Teachers, hospital staff, etc are marching for workers' rights.

Your post has just 12 recs. Bum d Rush Show's has just 23 now. In this large group of supposedly avid Democrats, this is a disgrace. Apparently DUers think being keyboard warriors is enough. Super disappointing.

I do NOT watch the local news unless it is for the weather report or to see if they covered any of the protests. Same goes for national news. All of the MSM have an agenda and that agenda is to make more and more and more money for the rich and powerful. This includes both GOP and Dems. Corporate Dem donors are NOT on our side. Their bank accounts are the only thing of their concern and that will not change.

There were NO reports on the local news and there was only a 1 minute report on NBC National News tonight. Very discouraging but I am a realist and I do not expect much more than "talking the talk" instead of "walking the walk". This goes for DU as well. I didn't even open my DU site on my tablet until now...12:30 AM since I knew I would be discouraged.

Oh well, at least I have self respect and I DO walk the walk and I have since 1979 when I attended my first May Day Protest in Washington Sq. (NYC) and an anti-draft protest in Phila. and I had to literally walked the walk for 2 hours each way to the local train station to go to Phila alone since I was 17 and had no car or friends with cars to drive me to the station. I ended up on the local news though. I was one of about 20 protesters but they chose me to interview. For some reason I am interviewed by news stations at the rallies I attend. I guess I look very pissed off and serious. I AM VERY PISSED OFF AND SERIOUS!!! I didn't myself on the news that first time it but my so-called friends did and told me so. Ha! I follow my true course. I am proud of that.

If only everyone did their part!

I went to a protest in a college town and was so disappointed that very few college age kids were there. Considering the population of the town, it was disappointing that more people of all ages didn't turn out. It was a larger crowd than the last time, but we need crowds so big the M$M can't ignore them!
