I'll even put raw liver on a brush hook or trot line, but I ain't going near them mudbugs!

We used the tails for catching pan-fish, bluegills, that sort of thing. Had to get them at a bait store, though. Once you'd found the depth, damn near never failed.

We lived by a small creek and he’d pay me and my brother to catch some. Don’t remember how much, likely a nickel apiece or something, but it took no time at all to get a couple dozen. We’d make little nets out of a coat hanger and a mesh potato bag and turn over rocks. When we found them we’d hold the net behind them and wave a hand in front, they’d scoot right in.
