Many social media users expressed concern at Trump's remarks, claiming he had hallucinated the interaction, and said his apparent lapse in mental acuity could justify removing the 80-year-old from office.
But although the president's words in the moment might have been somewhat inaccurate, he hadn't hallucinated an interaction with the 26th president. During a tour of the new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, Trump spoke with an artificial intelligence representation of Roosevelt. https://www.snopes.com/news/2026/07/02/trump-teddy-roosevelt-conversation/

(2,371 posts)with TR or anyone else. Time and time again we have heard from mental health experts that he is seriously mentally ill and does not have a grip on reality. The warnings have been ignored, and no one has intervened. He is a clear and present danger to our country and its citizens. I fear it will take something horrific to get the attention of those in power, but by then it may be too late.

(115,328 posts)AI-generated interactive (deadbot) displays? I have my doubts.
After all, his constant reference to the fictional character, Hannibal Lecter, whenever he is discussing "illegal immigrants," does strongly suggest he does not know the difference between a so-called (insane) asylum and a request for political asylum. This kind of confusion is not all that rare with him.

(115,328 posts)THINK he'd had an actual discussion with him. The MSM bends itself into record-setting pretzel formations trying to give the benefit of the doubt. How far must his dementia progress before we cease doing so--at least to this extent? He did for a very long time (and perhaps still) think that Frederick Douglas was still alive.
Intense ignorance does not rule out dementia or other hallucinations, or disorganized, diseased mental processing.
