A close call involving performers at the Great American State Fair could land President Donald Trump behind bars, one journalist cautioned on Thursday.
Performers narrowly avoided injury Thursday when a section of the stage at the Washington, D.C. event appeared to give way, sending debris crashing down just feet from where they stood. According to Drop Site News founder Ryan Grim, however, the incident could end up haunting the president.
This is incredibly dangerous stuff. Trump cutting safety corners with stage building is the kind of thing somebody can genuinely be prosecuted for if someone dies, which is not uncommon if you slap it together like this, Grim wrote in a social media post on X to his more than 530,000 followers. This equipment is deadly when falling from those heights.

(14,778 posts)... a schematic of where Trump's responsibility falls would be a red arrow pointing not to Trump but to some random government employee following the law or some private citizen who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

(14,778 posts)"Appeared" as in, yes it literally came into view as it fell?
Or, "appeared" as in, maybe it fell or maybe it didn't?
Can a reporter not simply state the facts without hedging: "a section of the stage at the Washington, D.C. event appeared to give gave way, sending debris crashing down..."

Well, no one died. In fact it doesn't appear that anyone actually was hurt, fortunately.

(84 posts)been injured or killed, the idea that Trump would held personally responsible is, frankly, preposterous. That would all be handled by the contractor and their insurance.

news is all about clicks these days. Get a click on that headline and don't even worry that 98% of people never read beyond that.

Trump's responsible for the whole "elementary school play" feel of the thing.

(77,738 posts)I'm sure that like most contracts, the payor is held harmless over events created by the payee.
Second, this would clearly be an official act of government & the Seditious 6 already granted him immunity on any "official act".
This story is clickbait.
