CO-05: Jessica Killin (D), the second gentleman's former chief of staff, wins Colorado primary for Congress

Jessica Killin beat her opponent in the Democratic primary election on Tuesday for Colorado’s 5th Congressional District seat.

The 5th District, centered on Colorado Springs, is represented in Congress by Jeff Crank, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary.

The Associated Press called the race at 7:47.

Killin was an Army captain and paratrooper, and she served overseas as a military police officer. Killin later worked as an executive at insurance company USAA and chief of staff to second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
