Hundreds of localities and dozens of states hold annual outdoor fairs, generating millions of dollars of revenue and publicity and fun. They do this every summer. Millions of people attend.

They don't always go like clockwork, but they almost never get cancelled, and they're always well-attended.

If no one is attending Trump's mess, it's because it's lame and no fun. Why didn't Trump hire one of the state fair directors to run his birthday fiasco? I guess he didn't have any "friends" to farm the work out to.

This is like the first inauguration-- just another way to grift and launder millions.

We have a state fair in Minnesota. We have it every year. And every year the attendance goes up. It's a very popular event. People flock to it. They pay to get into it. They pay to park. They want to go to the air every year.

Trump tried to have a "State Fair." Nobody came. Nobody wanted to come? Why? Because it's Trump's fair, not a people's fair.

Nobody likes Trump. Some people worship him like a deity, but they don't like him.

Trump threatens people who DON'T COME to his fair. Why would they come?

He doesn't get the concept of what a state fair is at all.

It appeared that sparse numbers of people were just wandering aimlessly around in the state booths, some of which were little more than the sort of display you might see at a state park entrance. There was a ferris wheel that didn't always work, people selling Jesus, a rodeo, a cardboard mockup of the Great Arch that was already falling apart and reminded everybody of Spinal Tap's Stonehenge, absurdly overpriced food ($9 for a glass of lemonade, $25 or so for a stuffed pretzel roll), and not much else. Genuine state fairs have corn dogs, everything you can eat on a stick, lots of rides, a midway, a haunted house, all kinds of stuff for sale, big name concerts, art shows, prize pigs and cows, farm equipment displays, an orchid show, a giant pumpkin, enough to do and eat that you need days and enormous stamina to experience it. I go almost every year, just for the corn dogs and cheese curds and fry bread.

Even his nicknames are getting more lame.

As for calling Biden sleepy, he has no room to talk.

It's really a shame. It could have really been a great experience with proper funding and leadership.
I've been to countless state/regional fairs as well as 2 hemisfairs. Each was an unforgettable, enjoyable time. But each was planned and organized years in advance, not last minute mish-mash.

And Trump refused them the permits so that he could have his own "celebration."

Obama and Biden never would have turned the Oval Office into a gold-plated whorehouse or destroyed the East Wing or trashed the South Lawn or turned the Reflection Pool into a sewer or slapped their names on the Kennedy Center or turned the National Mall into a cheap amusement park…and you want to know why?..because Obama and Biden are men of integrity, men who understood the presidency was a grave responsibility not a conduit to illicit personal wealth ..and Obama and Biden are men who understood the White House was not their house but the people’s house..

They would have made something every American would have wanted to go to. There'd be concert stages with music for every taste. There'd be this big area with tents full of food from all over the United States - imagine someone from Texas eating her first lobster roll, a family from Oregon experiencing Carolina barbecue or a foodie from Seattle dining on lionfish caught off the shores of Florida. (Which would be good - those need to be gotten rid of and eating them drove way too many species to extinction.) There'd be static displays of all sorts of military equipment. It wouldn't be Trump's "I wanna have a state fair in the one place in the Continental United States that isn't actually a state, so bring me some people who hate going to the fair to set it up!" event.

I guarantee all 2000 are better than Don Old' fiasco. And all of them have budgets that are miniscule by comparison.
