(131,908 posts)I knew several guys my age and my parents' age named Donald. It was falling out of fashion recently anyhow, but sometimes there can be extenuating circumstances... Adolf was once a common, popular name in Germany but according to the Interwebs, these days only 10-15 baby boys are given that name every year. And their parents are probably members of AfD.

(35,019 posts)It reached it's peak in the 1930's at number 7
By the 1970's, it was down to 42nd. By then, probably people were being named after their father's or grandfather's
1980's it was 66th, 1990's 134th, by the 21st Century, it dropped off the charts below 200.

(1,451 posts)It goes back a few generations (and then one of my aunts hilariously married a Donald as well). Not sure if the name is gonna continue on though! To be fair that was likely the case prior to Trump too...not a lot of males being born in the family.

(35,019 posts)At it's height of popularity in the 1930's, it was ranked 7th. I think most Donald's starting in the 1960's were named after a relative.

I suspect Disney helped ruin the name with the Duck.
