This fella predicted the algae debacle a month ago.

HAHAHAhaha! they're making the world's biggest synthetic scum pond!!!

HAHAHAhaha! they're making the world's biggest synthetic scum pond!!!

The coating is a polyurea used inside pipes. It gels in about 3 seconds, making it non self-leveling. The texture is like an orange peel, the perfect substrate for biofilms.

This shit shrinks 1-3% when curing, which in a pipe is exactly what you want. On a big slab, uh, no it will pull towards the center and delaminate from the substrate at the edges.

Plus, applying directly to concrete is a problem. Long story short: Swiss cheese pinhole effect. Already flagged.

Rhino Pipeliner 5000 is not recommended for ponds. It's specialized for trenchless pipe repair, hence its rigidity and 3 second gel time. Other polyureas/polyurethanes are far more stretchable and good for continuous immersion.

Baffled that Rhino itself didn't step in, maybe they did

total in at least six figures, if not seven.

"Those vandals completely destroyed the beautiful and perfect lining so we are having to redo the entire pool very strongly!"

That number will be, of course, 85% palm-greasing and kickbacks.

To fix what nobody saw as a problem. The dark lining heats the water and algae blooms. Who have known? Don didn't. But arrest 6 people who's crime was checking out the pool. Now we get fencing so we can't connect with our monuments.

That stuff doesn't hold up to the sunlight. It has very minimal UV protection. I can't believe they used that on a shallow pool. I line my underground water tanks with it because they get no sunlight. And it's expensive.

Geez, why didn't they just use an epoxy pool coating? That's designed for pools.

Boy, they really didn't care if the pool was destroyed.

A large shallow pool, exposed to the Sun, exposed to whatever is blowing in the breeze - keeping it clear and clean.

I'd like to know from people involved in the past with that process how they did it.

And if they were consulted and involved in the current Green Mile debacle.
