What will happen to all the right wing sycophants who are kissing Trump's ass now? Will they go away quietly, try to blend into the scenery or decide to change their minds or resign? (Remember; there are no stupid questions).

(24,493 posts)Trump will be denied more than Jesus was denied by Peter, and Epstein was denied by Trump.
Never met the guy.
The RWNJs in the media and online are already repositioning themselves for Trumps imminent lame duck status, which will become official by the end of the year, if not sooner.

(9,060 posts)I fear, will find ways to compromise our electorate's sense of justice and community into legislation that keeps our corporate donors happy.
We are playing for 50% plus one, just to hold the gavel for a minute.
I have been saying all along that MAGA and the GOPs are all in on the white supremacy. That's their core motivation. We will never overcome their machinations and obstruction until we face the deeply systemic injustice in our society. Peace and quiet through law and order takes priority over liberty and justice for all.

(6,608 posts)The problem seems insurmountable. I'm 74 and was told in my younger years that it "just takes time". How much time? In your opinion, what would work?

(9,060 posts)Our society commoditizes humans, placing value or worth upon how well a person improves the bottom line for the faceless power structures. It values profit over community, exploits resources for monetary extraction over sustainability of our species. It "others" the locals as obstacles to that extraction.
We have to recognize where we participate in this system and find ways to choose community, to not seek the attention of, or the approval of, or break bread with bigots.
We are seen as consumers, and the economy is based on what we earn and what we spend.
This regime recognizes that community defeats them, that care for each other, outside of what profits us personally, is anathema to their exploitation. It is why their agents are using strategies that undermine trust in each other. It's why they go after BLM, turn antifa into leftist cartel, raid anti-ICE observers and organizers, defund planned parenthood, SNAP, health, science, environment, etc.
We choose comfort over conscience, stuff over sustenance. We turn those living in harmony with their environment into beggars and thieves in the streets of the emerald cities.
To counter, we have to lead by example, with faith and hope. Minute by minute, day by day. It's the only way.

(66,671 posts)nonsense. Raging on Fox News to fill the Facebook-esque disinformation voids. There's no $$$ in "going away quietly" remember. Not so long as such a massive percentage of the masses are glued to an online/tv/social media existence that's devoid of reality.

As opposed to now when the media feels it need to hear what those in power have to say and ignore those out of power.

(39,430 posts)They're not going anywhere: they have endless Billionaire dollars to fund their bullshit and control 75% of the media. Propaganda works on stupid and selfish people, and we have a surfeit of those.
The only thing they lack is a charismatic candidate other than the Dotard.
Sorry.
