Part of the reason was that limbaugh kept lowering the bar for what was acceptable in that corner of hell that was right-wing media. To compete for shares of the same audience, they all had to be as repulsive as he was. Fux did it to the point that they were forced to consider themselves entertainment and not news while being successfully sued by Dominion Voting Systems.
