King Charles reportedly balked at hosting President Donald Trump for a state visit, prompting fears in government circles that a royal snub could ignite a “full-blown diplomatic crisis.”

Trump paid a state visit to the U.K. in September last year, during which he stayed at Windsor Castle with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

But according to an i Paper report, King Charles was “reticent” about hosting Trump, with one source telling the outlet he “did not want to do it.”

According to i Paper, that was because of how Trump had treated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky when he visited the White House in February 2025.

has always lacked good manners.
As a teenager I was in discussion with my teenage friends, we were discussing status symbols. My mother overheard our conversation she informed me that good manners were the best status symbol Many, many decades later I can attest to the correctness of her advice.

Donald Trump is a rude, crude dude!

It makes a good way of getting along w people. And it's the right thing to do.
If I'm accidentally rude to someone I apologize.

Otoh I might under certain conditions bean rude to someone consistently nasty.

was absolutely the most shameful and enraging moment of Trump I can remember. I was yelling at the screen during that. If anyone has ever stepped up to an incredibly difficult job, it's Zelenskyy. What an incredible hero. And to see him treated like that by Trump and Vance, I was livid. Slava Ukraini.

He could have said, "Sorry, we're renovating the Buckminster Palace. Not possible to have you here." It would have been fine and Chump wouldn't have known the difference.

The truth is that the British Royal family owns probably 9 or 10 castles and manor houses, all over the UK and elsewhere.

When him and Trump were at a site with other leaders. Charles stopped and the look on his face you could tell he was in thought. I do think the princess ride in the carriage was demeaning to Trump. Trump was oblivious.
