https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/jun/01/trump-what-its-like-to-be-80In January, Trump altered his story to say it was a CT scan rather than an MRI. Why? Trump being Trump, presumably he doesnt want anyone to know anything about his health that might reveal something he fears enemies and critics might see as a weakness.
In retrospect, its too bad I took [the scan] because it gave them a little ammunition, Trump said. I would have been a lot better off if didnt, because the fact that I took it said: Oh gee, is something wrong? Well, nothings wrong.
Whats he afraid of? Probably that the American public will catch on to his diminishing capacities.
Three years ago, according to a Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll, only 28% of the public thought Trump insufficiently healthy to hold the nations highest office. This month, the same poll found that 55% of the public thought his health insufficient for him to serve effectively.
Behind the publics mounting worries is a growing sense that Trump isnt mentally all there.

(39,212 posts)Joe Biden running for reelection. Even before that debate. I think both of them were too old.
Biden did a great job but he shouldn't have ran again.

(6,107 posts)I have medical problems but everything is under control. I've aced the conative test three times. (My health plan sends a visiting nurse whether I need help or not). I live alone and do all my own maintenance. I would never have the energy to follow a real president's schedule.

(28,652 posts)I practice my profession as an employee/independent contractor well three days weekly, read, listen and explore music of many types and perform other duties and tasks pretty well.
In no way shape or form do I have the stamina, mental capacity to learn quickly and thoroughly, sleep patterns, and physiology of my middle age and before. I would never volunteer to be the head of anything, although I would be happy to work for something or someone and have a terrific attendance and work ethic.
I accept this as a normal function of aging and am happy just to be here.
