Looks like it is a real possibility that we will have two Dems on the ballot!

(11,162 posts)It can take all week to count mail-in ballots, and I think a decent chunk of people held theirs until the last minute to see how things were shaping up. I mailed mine on Thursday or Friday, and my partner didn't even bother until yesterday.

(25,685 posts)And yes, the mail in ballots will take a while. Too bad we can't start counting them earlier.

(15,642 posts)We just need to ensure there's two Dem fighting it out in the general.
Instead of a Dem that's already been beat up in the primaries against a smug Faux talking head carpetbagger who took notes.

(25,685 posts)Sorry if you were joking but to answer it, there is no way that Hilton could win against any Dem. He regularly polls at twenty percent and even if he picked up ten more from Bianco that's only thirty percent. Add together all the Dem percentages to get what the Democratic candidate would receive. With Porter's eight, and Steyer's 20 and Becerra's twenty three, you are already way above that. And that doesn't even count the lower level Dems single digit numbers which would also go to the Dem.

(25,685 posts)and I heard on MSNOW that many Dems are waiting until the last couple of days.

(18,150 posts)campaign. Is he going to double that if he runs against Becerra close to a half billion..? Hes had nonstop attack ads on Becerra.
We had a visitor from the Steyer campaign the other day. Steyers been the only campaign going door to door that Ive seen. He was a very nice young man, not a flippant bro type. We had a nice quick chat and I took his literature. He was a real asset to Steyer.

(109,378 posts)Ignore Mahan and Porter. Steyer is our best bet for knocking Hilton off the ballot.

(55,653 posts)I always do this. I LOVE voting, always have and always will. Dropping it off in person is a joy for me. I always would take my little dogs to the polls and they were given I VOTED stickers (all of their stuffed animals still have the stickers on them).
I taught my 1st graders the voting process and we voted all the time for everything and it was all done by them, not me. I would also take them on a "field trip" every year to the polling area in the cafeteria. They were as quiet as mice, polite, listened and asked good questions. The people working at the polls would give them a mini-lesson and they thought my kids were so cute. In class they chose the topic, the options, and passed out slips of paper. They had their "privacy boards" up (no peaking) and they voted anonymously. They collected the papers, they tallied the votes and they got to have 100% control of all of it. I just sat amd observed. We'd vote for what game to play at recess, what topping should go on the pizzas at our class parties, etc. I gave them I VOTED stickers in 4 languages (my classes were multi cultural).
I still write to former students and they remember these lessons!
