If you recced the video about data centers curently near the top of the Greatest page, you should

know - in case you didn't see the replies - that the video was made by a right wing conspiracy theorist who was one of the speakers on at least one of Mike Flynn's Reawaken America Tours

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReAwaken_America_Tour

and one of the videos the RWNJ posted includes "Seth's Speech at the ReAwaken America Tour in Colorado Springs, CO."

From Wikipedia:

The ReAwaken America Tour is an American far-right[1][2] and Christian nationalist[3] movement launched in 2021 by Oklahoma entrepreneur Clay Clark and former Donald Trump national security advisor Michael Flynn. Its rallies have promoted a variety of conspiracy theories, including COVID-19 misinformation, election denialism, QAnon, and doomsday prophecies.[4][5][6]

That YouTuber also posts about chemtrails and topics like these:

The Truth About Satanic Control Mechanisms in Power Structures

Ancient Sumerians Wore Frequency Watches 5,000 Years Ago

Ritual Abuse Survivor Exposes the Vatican, Blood Rituals & the Global Death Cult

WEAPONIZED Invasions Are Being Used to REPLACE US!

Please do NOT use that YouTuber's video in an argument against data centers. You can find other critics of data centers who are not right wing nut jobs. I hope no one here has been reposting that RWNJ's video elsewhere.

EDITING to add that this post is in no way a defense of the mad rush to build more data centers. I've posted a lot of criticism of data centers myself. And I know there are conservatives who oppose data centers, and that's fine.

What isn't fine is relying on a video by a crazy RW conspiracy theorist as an argument against data centers.

3. I've posted a lot of criticism of data centers myself. But DUers should not recommend videos from RWNJs.

His crazy videos completely discredit anything he might say about data centers even if he gets that partucular criticism right.

new thing, part of the AI bubble. I've posted OPs with serious criticism of the new data centers from real experts.

Which that RWNJ isn't. Which is why I hope DUers aren't sharing his video and directing people to his channel.

that thread, which others saw, would get a response from the DUer who posted it.

I'd guess a lot of people seeing a social media post or video from someone they're not familiar with never think to check out their other posts or videos. I generally assume they didn't unless they refer to other posts from that source. A lot of videos just show up isolated, out of context, and people rec and share them without giving a second thought to the source.

I've posted here before that data centers are an issue where many on the right will agree with us. But we need to steer clear of the extremist and loony conspiracy theorists among them and not treat those whackos as worth listening to because they seem to agree on one issue.
