What's the endgame? We'd better get smart quickly.

(24,154 posts)The answer may be right, it may be wrong, but the internet will never again say I dont know.
So, everyone from scientists, to students to presidents to journalists to soldiers, none of them will ever have to wonder about anything ever again.
As long as they trust in AI, they will gain the God-like ability to know anything and everything, instantly

(2,104 posts)Some people think AI will kill us all, some people think it will create a utopia where all humans don't have to work or do anything because the machines will do everything.
Some people think it's all a big bubble about to blow up and tank the economy. Some think it will be like the dot com bubble where even though a bunch of companies failed, the resulting infrastructure will be useful going forward.
It's already causing layoffs and that will accelerate unless AI progress stops. If that continues, it could tank the economy because getting to 20% unemployment would be a disaster for the economy. People like Sam Altman talk about how it will create infinite wealth so a universal basic income will be easy, but then again you don't see him giving up his billions like money won't matter soon.
I think it will short term worsen our inequality, but it has the potential to cause that to reverse if people get angry enough.

Stockholders will love this new strategy as we all get financially killed if we don't deal with Trump now.
