I think Republicans realize Grampy's slush fund will help them as much as chugging a gallon of Ortho weed killer.

This post is inspired by the article linked below.

But here's the thing. Republicans are all about bold statements and taking a firm hand on doing what's right until Trump barks loud enough, then they just bend over and grab their ankles.

Sort of like the Susan Collins "CONCERN" jokes...she expresses her concern, then votes in alignment with Trump wants.

See, here's the key.

I dont' believe Republicans are actually saying "WE CAN'T ALLOW THIS, it's WRONG."

I think they are looking for ways to get away with it that won't result in their being thoroughly fucked in the Midterms, and I don't think there IS a way.

So will their own sense of self-preservation override their blind fear of Trump?

That would be anyone's guess.

Republicans revolt over Trump’s $1.8 billion compensation fund, delaying reconciliation bill

Republicans were planning to pass their reconciliation bill before a Memorial Day recess. All of that is on hold after Republicans pushed back against Trump’s nearly $1.8 billion “anti-weaponization” fund.
