Science will continue (if they are allowed to) progress in solar technology efficiency. Also, batteries for power storage have become remarkably sustainable. For example, there are ideas being developed using chlorophyll as a battery component. This tech is still at its infancy.

By the way, I have been totally on solar for fifteen years. My total investment to date is about $6k or about $400 a year. I imagine most would like a $35/month power bill.

a global effort to improve batteries, something along the lines of the push to get to the moon or develop the atomic bomb.

Take %75 percent of the defense budget and improve not only our power system but also healthcare, family care, and our farming community. And don’t subsidize the oligarchs!

If he were to mix himself a hydrocarbon nightcap and be done with it, who among us is really going to complain? It would put us out of at least some of our misery, wouldn't it?
