We now have the list of Iran's "demands" that made Trump lose his sh*t and stamp his tiny bone spurred feet in rage.

The list submitted by Tehran includes demands for compensation for war damage sustained during the now 10-week conflict, as well as recognition of Iranian sovereignty over the vital Strait of Hormuz shipping route.

Iran is also demanding that the U.S. end its naval blockade of Iranian ports, lift sanctions against the country, guarantee no further attacks—including in Lebanon—and end the U.S. ban on Iranian oil sales, state media reported, via Reuters and The New York Times.

Trump appeared to fiercely reject the proposal in a Truth Social post shared during a frantic Mother’s Day posting spree on Sunday.

Trump is highly unlikely to agree to pay Iran reparations linked to the war, nor support Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz—the largely closed-off passageway through which one-fifth of the world’s oil supply normally passes.

maybe so, but we owe iran, at least 159 ships (unless, of course, iran never had that many sunk ships..)

but the timing will be such that a dem has to actually write the check and take the blame.

Trump has successfully cowed / spayed / neutered Congressional Republicans, and he thinks he can replicate that same fear and fealty with Iran.

He can't.

They know exactly WHO and WHAT he is, and they don't care.

Iran attacking their neighbors and unarmed neutral ships is hardly "winning" against the US.
Does turn a lot of countries against them though, good job!

If Trump goes back in and bombs all their power plants & bridges as he has threatened are they still "winning"?

and i think Americans find that inconceivable because they don't understand Shi'ite society. Your last line needs editing:

"Stop or we will bleed on your more!!"

I've been reading Juan Cole over at Informed Comment for years. He has been instructive for helping me understand the attitudes there. He wrote up something at the beginning of the conflict predicting it would all go horribly wrong and why but i'm having trouble finding it. I'll keep looking. Here is a recent article from the Middle East Monitor via Informed Comment:

https://www.juancole.com/2026/05/israeli-iranian-collapse.html

Also, my understanding is that our own illustrious CIA has determined Iran still has 70% of its stockpile of missiles and launchers... so there's that.

..... the majority of their anti-air defenses and radars have been destroyed,, most of their major military headquarters and buildings have been flattened, all their major Naval vessels have been sunk except the small stuff they keep hidden, their ports are blockaded so they can't sell any oil, if that's winning I 'd hate to see losing.

you don't understand the mindset among the religious leaders there. I don't really either, but i'm trying. The Shia and Sunni are very different from each other, but both are different from a Western attitude in MANY ways. Martyrdom is a thing. They've got Trump over a barrel and they can keep him there. Everyone is paying attention to them now. They have cards. They'll let their people suffer if it means we suffer too.
