I've ordered from Amazon online a lot over the years (too much) and have many times left the Amazon web page open

on my browser...I am definitely stopping this habit these days as I no longer trust that Amazon isn't embedding tracking software or other in my system...I mostly use a Chromebook which is supposed to be more impervious to such stealthy invasions so there's that...we can never really know what Amazon or other mega corporations are doing behind the scenes but it's a start for me...

Edit: I do use a windows 11 machine some times so I'm going to run more anti virus and anti malware programs on that machine. Hopefully that will help it too...

What do you use for a home PC if you have one? Maybe you only use a phone but that is too constraining for me... wcmagumba May 10 #2

I know Google really can't be trusted much with the Chromebook but it's the best I can do. I very rarely use my Windows 11 desktop but it does have a slot for a small external hard drive and I do have a version of Linux on a bootable drive that I kind of forgot about...I will see if I can still boot Linux from that drive and update it if possible...bad on my old brain forgetting about the Linux drive...we'll see...
