The Scotus's reasoning was immediately disproven by how quickly southern states eliminated Black majority districts.

Racism is alive and well.

There is no clearer case for the necessity of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 than how quickly southern states moved to eliminate Black-majority districts and dilute Black power after SCOTUS eroded Section 2.

SCOTUS’s reasoning was immediately disproven by reality.

Look at Roe v Wade. How many of those “justices” sat in front of confirmation hearings and said that they weren’t going to overturn it? Only to do it within 2 years. They cover their asses in words to get through the moment to allow the conservative movement to win down the road

"The same folks who fought integration tooth and nail in the 1960s, continued to drag their feet in the 1970s and ’80s, and spent the intervening decades fomenting racial strife for their own electoral gains became the first people to insist — without irony or self-awareness, let alone repentance or shame — that racism was behind us."

"Integration went from never to too soon to enough already."

"One of the features of white supremacy, if you’re a white supremacist, is you get to expurgate your own sins."

"You can shed the robe and hood. You can get cosmetic surgery, as David Duke literally did, and made yourself inoffensive and telegenic. You can craft elaborately self-serving legal theories stripped of overt racial animus. You can even flip the script and play indignant victim when accused of racism. But you never ever have to be accountable for America’s original sin."

The only good thing they've ever done is to lay bare all the reasons why the Court so desperately needs radical reform for the good of the country.
Their impeachment and disbarment cannot occur soon enough.

Since John Crow Roberts has wanted to disappear the VRA since the early 80s, there may have been some coordination through the years and they had a plan ready that was just waiting for a trigger.

What the Roberts KKKourt does is start with the politically motivated outcome, and backfill any old bullshit as a hand waving excuse for their overtly partisan political activity.

They always do this when the question is one involving partisan politics. ALWAYS. They never start with data (facts, Constitution, laws, precedents) and reason their way to an answer.

And say white people don’t have all the power in those states and therefore they are being discriminated against because their power isn’t overemphasized, Then the Roberts Court will require that blue states also have to agree with their new racist interpretation of the VRA and impose the same racial gerrymandering advantage for whites. It would be Jim Crow for all and we must do everything we can to stop it.

that the statement that racism doesn't exist anymore is false was always known to the racist, corrupt, super majority that put this calamity into motion. they are not surprised, and if you asked them, they would still maintain that these aren't "racial" gerrymanders.

permanent minority rule. they are essentially at the finish line.
