They're Still Trying To Kill You

They’re Still Trying To Kill You
Published by digby on May 5, 2026

This is simply unconscionable:

Officials at the Food and Drug Administration have blocked publication of several studies supporting the safety of widely used vaccines against Covid-19 and shingles in recent months, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed.

The studies, which cost millions of dollars in public funds, were conducted by scientists at the agency, who worked with data firms to analyze millions of patient records. They found serious side effects to be very rare.

In October, the scientists were directed to withdraw two Covid-19 vaccine studies that had been accepted for publication in medical journals. In February, top F.D.A. officials did not sign off on submitting abstracts about studies of Shingrix, a shingles vaccine, to a major drug safety conference.

The withdrawal of the studies is the latest step by the administration to try to limit access to vaccines. It has sharply cut research funding for vaccine development, released unvetted information casting doubt on vaccines, and blocked other information supporting their safety, most recently a paper on Covid vaccine effectiveness by career scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There’s no need to go over the stats for the COVID vaccine. We all know it. But SHINGRIX is now on the chopping block too? My god.

In other news, I see RFK Jr's after going after anti-depressants now, too.
Not quite sure how that fits in with his apparent "let diseases kill everybody" agenda. He's probably hoping for more mass shootings or something. Or maybe he just got overexuberant upon finding out about the Andes strain of hantavirus.

Got my shot after that

... rivals Trump's, and, though Trump has had a head start, RFK may soon surpass him numerically. Denying people access to lifesaving vaccines, and other medications he deems worthy of his mindless malice, is going to kill a LOT of people in a very short time, up to, and including, newborns not getting Vitamin K when they first enter this rapidly deteriorating world.
As I've said before, it's a shame that worm didn't stick around for dessert.

Justice matters.

...it'll just make you wish you were dead for a while until it subsides. It can also cause serious complications like blindness, hearing loss or severe chronic nerve pain. Thankfully, the shingrix vaccine is over 90% effective in stopping it. So of course, this administration wants you to believe shingrix is dangerous (it's not) to make you suffer by not getting it.

Scientists Find Shingles Vaccine Lowers Dementia Risk and Impacts Inflammation
But what do doctors think?

By Korin MillerPublished: Oct 15, 2025

New research suggests the shingles vaccine may lower the risk of dementia.

This isn’t the first study to link the vaccine with a lowered risk of the disease.

Doctors say this underscores the importance of getting the vaccine.

There are a slew of older adult vaccines that healthcare professionals recommend getting as you age. But there’s one in particular that seems to have health benefits beyond lowering the risk of getting the illness it’s designed to prevent. Recent research found that the shingles vaccine may lower your risk of dementia.

A new scientific analysis published in Nature Medicine delves into the science. For the analysis, researchers looked at the healthcare records of more than 100 million patients across more than 7,000 hospitals and clinics in the U.S. between 2007 and 2023.

Researchers zeroed in on those who received the shingles vaccine and found that those who got it had a 33% lower risk of dementia compared with people who got the pneumococcal vaccine, which doesn’t protect against shingles but is recommended for people in the same age group. Because people who are healthy are more likely to get vaccinated, the pneumococcal vaccine was designed to be a “control.”

13. MaddowBlog-Latest evidence on mRNA vaccines exposes the folly of Team Trump's opposition

The more evidence we get of what’s possible with mRNA vaccines, the more we’re reminded of the administration’s drastic mistake.

For those eager for news about potential medical breakthroughs, there have been some encouraging headlines lately. Last month, for example, NBC News reported on an mRNA pancreatic cancer vaccine that’s shown promise in an early trial. More research is needed, but as the report added, “nearly all of the patients who responded to the personalized vaccine are still alive six years later.”

Less than a month later, the public received another round of good news directly related to mRNA research. NBC News also reported last week:

Messenger RNA technology, or mRNA, is widely seen as a promising way to improve the effectiveness of flu shots, partly because it can be updated more quickly to match circulating strains.

New results published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine found Moderna’s mRNA flu vaccine gave more protection against illness than the standard flu shot in a Phase 3 clinical trial
.

The report quoted Dorit Reiss, a vaccine policy expert at the University of California Law San Francisco, who said, “These are strong results, and would likely make it hard for the FDA to refuse in a way that withstands arbitrary and capricious review.”....

Dr. Jerome Adams, who served as the surgeon general during Trump’s first term, added via social media, “I’ve tried to be objective & non-alarmist in response to current HHS actions — but quite frankly this move is going to cost lives.”

The president tried to defend the shift, but he failed. Kennedy tried, too, and he fared about as well. When Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Trump’s handpicked director of the National Institutes of Health and acting head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post making his best case, it collapsed rather quickly.

The more the public is confronted with evidence of what’s possible with mRNA vaccines, the more we’re reminded of how drastic a mistake the administration made and why it remains incumbent on Team Trump to reverse course.
