I see sale prices on groceries more than

the regular price was a few years ago.
Today at local chain market;
Hagan Daz pint (really 14 oz) $4.99. It use to be around $4.50, with the sale price of 2 for 7 or 2 for 8. The regular price is now $6.99 or $7.99
Whole Wheat Flour, 4 lbs (not 5 lbs as it was) 2 for $9, it use to be $3.99 with the sale price around $2.99. Regular price around $7, for flour!

Anybody else see this at their store?

The 2 pack of 6 bagels at Costco rose from 5.99 to 7.99 since IQ47. VERY indicative of what prices have done generally in the past year.

their BOGO deal is still more than the regular price used to be. Compounded with the shrinkflation of many items, and it's ridiculous.

But nothing for me is worse than the high fiber microwavable oatmeal, I used to buy the store brand for three ninety nine for eight packets. Then they discontinued the store brand completely. Then I had to buy Quakers version for six ninety-nine, Now they raised it to eight dollars and twenty nine cents! Both the store brand and Quaker brand are made in Canada and this is a direct result of tariffs.

We often do store brand over name brand for about 3/4 of groceries. A can of black beans last year cost .99, this year $1.19, on sale for $1.09. It's typical of just about every item we purchase.

(and for Statler and Waldorf... the same style increase applied to dried beans as well, and the gumbo-clay soils on the land our place sits on aren't keen on allowing healthy bean growth)

Saw a lot of items with "sale" prices listed with a caveat: "Must buy 2" or "Must buy 3" for the prices.

I live alone with not a lot of storage space, so such "specials" don't do me much good. It's a major reason I stopped shopping at Costco. Great prices, but I can't handle the bulk on most of what I buy and it became not worth it to me to pay the annual dues.
