https://disconnectaccess.toyota.com/#/drva-landingIf you are a victim of domestic violence, you may submit a "Disconnect Remote Vehicle Access" request to terminate your vehicle's connected services to protect against it being tracked, accessed, or controlled by another individual.
Applies to Lexus, Toyota, or SubaruConnect.
If you drive a Toyota Supra (2020 or newer), your connected services are provided by BMW.

(20,930 posts)1. Are you getting the feeling
That women in general are big loser in the 'digital revolution'?

(26,299 posts)3. A friend and I ( both male) were discussing two California political figures.
Men have no idea how women are victimized.
I raised a daughter and I have an inkling.
I sometimes feel like Avalokitesvara,
In Buddhism, Avalokiteśvara is a Bodhisattva associated with Great Compassion.
Known as the One who hears the cries of the world. This name reflects the bodhisattvas ability to see and understand the suffering of all beings and to respond with compassion.
In Tibet he is often portrayed with a thousand arms, each hand with an eye in it, symbolizing the seeing and reaching out to help those in distress
This is not easy!
In China however Avalokitesvara is more usually represented as a beautiful white robed woman and is known as Kwan Yin.

Being male, I try to use my wisdom and strength to break the idiotic notion of "privilege" which says that any one person is "better" than another just because of their gender, color, ethnicity, national origin, whatever!!! It's a very Buddhist notion, a real golden rule, and I call this unearned privilege "fundamental darkness".
Different, yes. "Better" no,
Winners and losers in the digital revolution reflect society as a whole, and while technology is neutral (1), it's usually appropriated first by uncaring sociopaths and of course, to kill and conquer. I have tried to put it to good use in my life, and advocacy.
Don't forget that life is a mirror. Strong people lift others up and weak people try to cut others down.
These sociopaths are empty, weak, fearful beings. Actions speak loudly.
(1) I made an outline of "What Technology Wants" by Kevin Kelley (2010)
Here is a portion of my outline. I still believe this, and that makes me un-ZuckAndCompany.
So, looking at the evolution of life and the long-term histories of past technologies, what are the long-term trajectories of the technium? What does technology want?

If I need connection, there's the phone. And a damn lot cheaper than a car.
