So perhaps the people around him are doing their best to avoid putting more momentous decisions in front of him?

Trying to think positive in these otherwise depressing times.

I didn't mean to say he's making ANY "good decisions" but if there are people steering him away from deciding more momentous matters, that might be a hopeful sign is all.
