(12,574 posts)What a stupid, flatfooted reply.
The ID requirement to prove citizenship is merely another way to limit voting. Republicans know they cannot win in a fair electoral situation because their ideas are repugnant, toxic to the voting majority and that despite all the happy talk Trump's 2nd Administration is disastrous.
The propaganda is losing its magic.

(13,153 posts)That people should NOT watch the DocuMovie, 2073, HBO,. It outlines the hell we are sprinting towards and exactly where each step to get there, began. And who is responsible.
It Stars Bezos, Musk, Zuck, Theil and all the greatest 🍆🥔 and their elk.
It is way too horrifying to see the Greatness we are intent on getting too. All laid out in P2025 and fulfilled as the movie clearly depicts.
Again the Movie documentary 2073.
More terrifying than Exorcist in HD, in 3D on acid to a 10 year old paranoid child, sitting next to Satan joined by Maxwell and Epstein, all three naked.

(64,525 posts)I'll probably need blood pressure medication and a sleep aid, though.
It is terrorizing and sickening. But needs to be on every TV ASAP.
Why they need so much Data and incarceration camps, and why Musk sent his boy nerds in to steal all out information is right there in this DOC.
Some of the hell it predicts is already in play in other far right 🍆🥔 countrys right now. And the billionaire boys are all over it with puppet Trump to install it all here. If they succeed to a nearby point in their wet dream, there is no coming back. And that is why all the GQP thieves and liars do not care what polls say, how much they are hated, they know they will never give up power or face any responsibility. Why the arrogant smirks and fuck you attitudes in Hearings. They will be untouchable, the elections will not be without a hell of a fight,
This fight needs much more than
Milk toast, concerns and disturbed letters.
We are at War. And we are way behind right now.
Watch right past the credits, something there that will top the terror off.

...So, a few things.
First, treating the gutting of the Voting Rights Act as an inconvenience to be overlooked is ridiculous.
Second, Ive been to plenty of restaurants, and Ive never even heard of one that requires patrons to show identification at the door.
Third, the right to dine out is in no way comparable to the right to vote, as the acting attorney general really ought to understand.
But as important as these elements are, theyre not unfolding in a vacuum. Blanche is in the midst of an unannounced audition, which hes trying nail through a series of unsubtle moves that include indicting people the president doesnt like, advocating firing squads as a method of federal execution, releasing absurd reports critical of the Biden administration while gratuitously slamming Joe Biden himself, and intervening in support of Trumps ballroom crusade.
So while the Republican lawyers ID at restaurants line was laughable, it wasnt intended to persuade the public; it was intended to impress the president watching to see whether Blanche would embarrass himself in support of Trumps agenda.
By all appearances, its working as intended. During an event with supporters on Friday afternoon, the president referred to Democratic officials in Minnesota, prompting someone in the crowd to shout, Lock them up! Trump added moments later, Well, stranger things have happened, Ill tell you. By the way, our attorney general is doing a very good job, isnt he? Todd Blanche has done a very good job.
Blanche is auditing to become trump's real AG or Blanche may get to stay as acting AG for the maximum time. Blanche is also working to make sure that he is disbarred just like Rudy, Eastman and 20+ other trump attorneys

(38,830 posts)Marriage licenses, divorce decrees, etc. A drivers license would suffice. But thats not true for voting if the SAVE act passes.
