I'm not going to post the content from the article here, because it's Tucker Carlson, and I call bullshit on this being some kind of "moral imperative" for Trump, that his "principles" had to override his "legacy."
Maybe he's just a stupid fuck who let a bigger conman and fellow war criminal convince him that driving off the cliff was the smart thing to do.
I will share this:

You can go to the link and read the whole thing, if you'd like. The gist is that Netanyahu pressured him into it, and we know "Prince" Mohammed bin Bonesaw also did the same.

(15,262 posts)... military could walk in anywhere and do what it wanted. Trump told the NY Times that the only check on his power was his own morality.

(95,033 posts)Though he downplayed Fuentes influence on our politics and characterized his antisemitic and racist views as naughty, he told me he regretted having him on his show because it distracted from the bigger issues.
Carlson was credited with getting Trump to pick Vance as his vice president, and he spoke protectively about his friend, who he said had been subject to nonstop treachery by neoconservatives inside the White House. He also said that the right-wing personalities Mark Levin and Laura Loomer have been out for Vance from Day 1, big time. Both Levin and Loomer denied that.
Carlson said Vance was in a tough spot because his long-stated foreign policy views were contrary to the administrations actions in Iran. Carlson said of Vance that he couldnt be a bigger fan of him as a man, but I think anybody connected to this is going to have a hard time explaining it, because how is this good for the United States? Its not.

(23,463 posts)RWers are basically and by tradition liars and evil conspirators.
The President of the United States first and foremost is to protect this country and her people. shihthole has done neither. Same shit in his 1st tenure and it's gotten much worse in his 2nd tenure.
A president put the needs of his people before the needs of others, especially from foreign countries. shithole has done neither.
Plus shithole and his party are greedy SOBs, stealing taxpayer's money which is taken away from programs that help it's people.
Fuck them.

(61,071 posts)but I think a better conjecture than Carlson's might be that Netanyahu sold Trump that this could reshape the Middle East into a better place and that he, unlike his predecessors was strong and brave enough to do it. Consider it as another step of PNAC with the same neo con theory that got us into Iraq.
Trump has even said others should have done this and has often spoke of their 47 years of terrorism. Just like his posting of the Jesus/doctor drawing, he.sees himself as God like. Remember his comment on being bound only by his morality, not international law? I think Netanyahu played to his narcissism and view that he is the most powerful person ever and will have a huge legacy. The adolescent bully his family sent away still exists inside the President.

(114,418 posts)But the latter makes him incredibly easy to manipulate. That's why the long-reported issue with his susceptibility to both flattery and the last person to speak with him matters so much. Netanyahu definitely fits in the latter, and I suspect (like Putin's decades of blackmail evidence collection efforts), has freely used his Mossad to gather devastatingly damaging information against Trump.
Trump is a national security nightmare. But, likewise, a domestic security nightmare. Bibi shares Trump's criminality--to avoid it, the long-sought eternal war against Iran, Hezbollah-Lebanon, and Hamas (among others) is the perfect solution. Easy enough to justify to the Israeli RW-Likud and most certainly to Trump, albeit the latter was not looking for a long-term engagement.
Maybe Bibi only gave Trump the license or strong "encouragement," if some prefer, to do what he already wanted to, albeit in the most uninformed and consequence-ignorant manner. But, I certainly don't believe Trump would have done so NOW without Bibi and his "influence" (or unrelenting manipulation IMHO).
