It was drummed into us kids by Dad; a working person should NEVER vote right wing. He spoke often of the principles behind the system of eight hours work, eight hours sleep and eight hours relaxation.
That tenet has survived, mostly unchanged in our arbitration system although the 40 week is officially 37.5 - which was a win for workers.
This is from the ACTU (Australian Council of Trade Unions), peak body for workers' rights. Let's celebrate May Day and support our working brothers and sisters worldwide.
