Listening to the news it sounds like the gerrymandering that is going on is based on drawing the lines based on where the pockets of Democrats and Republicans are located. It's like they're completely ignoring the Independents. And if they are ignoring them, that means that the Republicans may be shooting themselves in the foot because Trump's poll numbers with Independents is something like 75% negative.

And that's if they have no opposition and they can just move forward. And they lose ground because blue states are doing it the right way and have double the population.
