Years of talking to them from doing GOTV.
The majority of the Democratic voters now are the "silent majority". Bernie Sanders and AOC rallies bringing them in.

that they are Independents whom I’ve met I could count on one hand. I am not saying that there aren’t many, but every single one I’ve known voted for Reagan against Carter, Bush against Gore, Trump against Hillary and Kamala and locally virtually all vote for Republicans from dog catcher to senator of both varieties: state and federal.

My own deceased father in law used to sit there praising civil rights laws, and all the liberal, progressive stuff and then vote for the repressive assholes with BS excuses.
