https://www.christianpost.com/news/jordan-peterson-still-very-sick-amid-neurological-battle.htmlJordan Peterson is continuing to recover at home after a prolonged and severe illness that was finally diagnosed by doctors, with his daughter saying the past year has been unbelievably hard on the family.
In a detailed video update posted to YouTube on Saturday, Mikhaila Fuller said the 63-year-old clinical psychologist and author has been suffering from complications related to a prior neurological injury that has recently triggered a recurrence of a condition known as akathisia.
Akathisia is a disorder associated with extreme physical and psychological distress, in which those affected feel an intense and uncontrollable need to move.
Dads been suffering from an old neurological injury thats more recently been causing akathisia, Fuller said, adding the condition is the worst thing Ive ever seen anyone go through.
She said Petersons condition worsened in recent months.
Hes still been really sick, and he got worse over the last few months, Fuller said, explaining why the family delayed sharing a more detailed update publicly.

Something like that
A more polite Andrew tate...

(133,640 posts)He is Rogan adjacent. He is high on his own supply. Perfectly fine attendant lord as a clinical psychologist, but wrote self-help books and became a profit to the unwashed masses in their mom's basement.
Jordan Peterson confuses psychology with biology, and biology with morality.
He is a mess. He should, as he puts it, clean his bloody room.
EDIT: Including this to note the Freudian slip of "profit" from "prophet", a mistake that Dr. Peterson could write a book about if he wasn't so addled on beef and klonopin

(37,726 posts)Snip-"He evidently wants to return to unquestioned patriarchy by paradoxically claiming that the idea that women were oppressed throughout history is an appalling theory. This is an insidious sleight-of-hand in which, by denying that patriarchal oppression ever existed, men can continue to ignore what many women have been saying for centuries, from Mary Wollstonecraft and Simone de Beauvoir to Judith Butler and Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Kate Manne. Furthermore, Peterson has advised his followers to completely avoid the disciplines of sociology, anthropology, English, womens studies, and ethnic and racial studies, a startlingly broad swath of the academy that he sees as corrupted by the supposed evils of feminism, postmodernism, and neo-Marxism. Petersons work invites a much more extensive critique than I have the space (or inclination) to offer here, and there have been numerous excellent critical pieces (including this recent article in The Guardian), but whats more interesting to me is the question of why so many young men are drawn to his work, specifically what need his pseudo-intellectual misogyny fills for these men, some of whom Ive found to be otherwise quite intelligent and reasonable in one-on-one interactions.
The men who are attracted to Petersons ideas seem to have a profound sense that their dominant role in society is coming to an end, and that feminist postmodernism is the primary agent of this loss of privileged status. This grievance is not news to anyone who pays attention to politics, as it is this very sense of loss of an imagined golden age that largely seems to have motivated Trump voters. But the deeper register of this insight is that postmodernism has, in fact, constituted a kind of deatha death of the modernand an end of the certainty and privilege that menespecially straight white menhave experienced in the era currently coming to a close."

When I first learned about him a decade or so ago, I listened to him on my morning walk for a week or two (note to self, you need to start walking again, F the treadmill). At the time there was this big ruckus about him refusing to use gender-neutral pronouns, which I think is what brought him to prominence. Anyway, if he's background noise and you're not paying super attention to what he says, at first he can come off as being somewhat of an intellectual. Upon further reflection, however, he is is no way so.
At the time he had a huge and growing following of mostly younger college educated males.

(3,996 posts)I don't even know the line with him. Is it misogyny or sexism? Is it some melange?
He considers himself an heir of Jung. He spends a good deal of his time considering himself.
It is good that when he gets the opportunity to do so, he feels the need to move.

mr715
(3,996 posts)He allegedly eats only meat and sparkling water and it helped with his health conditions... Which is ridiculous, because he keeps breaking down every few months.
I want to say his daughter is doing some weird Christian-diet-morality thing... It just is a bizarre mishmash.
The story they tell he Dr. Peterson's wife got cancer and it just broke Jordan's heart. He started taking klonopin but became dependent. He eventually went to Russia to get placed into a medically induced coma to detox, and has been on a meat and water diet ever since and his symptoms have "improved".
Don't watch any of his recent work or your blood pressure will go up. A healthy person he is not. He is if you take the worst parts of RFK Jr and shove it up Kermit the Frog and make it anti-trans.

(970 posts)I am not ill-informed, but I have never heard of this person until now.
WHY SHOULD ANYONE HERE CARE TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM, LET ALONE NUANCES OF ANY NEUROLOGICAL CONDITION??
And if the answer is: "Because he is a popular voice for our opponents," please don't bother to respond. I didn't even care an iota about who Charlie Kirk was.
TIA!

Then, seeing the replies, I realized this was another quack like "Dr." Oz. that I had dismissed as not worth my time or energy to pay attention to, except for the occasional sound bites on "news" websites.
