I posted a thread about the links to Chump with a worldwide criminal and...minutes later there is a thread begun showing a pig's asshole which has more replies and recs.

And wanted to apologize on behalf of that.

It was shameful that it got locked.

Glad I get this chance to express my support.

In my case I find it hard to accept that so many people in this country admire the actions of not only our current administration but the fact that it is also prevalent in many states - Texas in my case.
I honestly think that people, including myself, will suffer from PTSD long after these assholes in our present government are gone. It has permeated this nation to the point of being almost irreversible.

and I admit to being guilty of 'going low' - just as the First Lady (you know which one I mean!) suggested that we should 'go high' when they 'go low.'
Well, we've all seen over the years where THAT got us!
Remember when, after signing the 'Obamacare' bill then VP Biden leaned over and whispered "That's a F**king big deal!"
WHOA!
SO MANY knickers were twisted and the 'church ladies' wore out their tongues 'tsk-tsk-tsking'!
But IQ45/57 drops the 'F-Bomb' in one of his midnight toilet texts and everybody just goes "that's tRumb being tRump......"

As another poster said, I think it is a saturation of frustration - or, from a great movie: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna' take it any more!"

It IS sad, especially when you consider the history of government behavior on the job site: "I yield to the Gentleman from _______."
Then go watch the Congressional hearing with Pam Blondi!
Respect?
Honor?
Decorum?
I'm tempted to 'go low' and call her out again for that RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

I agree - I miss the 'kinder, more gentle times' - but I can't believe we'll ever see those again until we rid ourselves of this SCUMBAG in the White House.
HE IS THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!

I think it was about getting more 'base/crude' - and people of different generations react to those situations differently.
I'm a 'boomer' - and it is still 'shocking' (well, not really - I've worked in a bar and saw the 'progress' of language being used in public) to hear the "F-bomb" being used - and with many others it is 'just another word' used to express their thoughts or feelings.
And besides, I truly believe the Repugs have exclusive rights, privileges, and forgiveness for using cheap shots - at least, it seems to be that with with the MSM!

I know that doesn't protect from the private sector but it should apply on a political forum...

I have definitely noticed it from TV news anchors, liberal podcasters, comments on DU and basically everywhere. Since I loudly and often use 4-letter words and have since I was 16 I have had to be very, very careful with my mouth. I am a passionate person and I learned profanity from my Italian grandmom so I can use Italian profanity in the US without offending most people while also expressing my passion towards a particular person, place, thing or idea.

I certainly notice when others use profanity and "get away with it". I was an elementary school teacher for 20 years and watching my mouth was constantly very challenging for me. I hear tons of people in professional professions publicly swearing and it has become almost commonplace since 2024. "The fucking moron" (as Rex Tillerson described tRump in 2017) has been a white trash, tacky billionaire whose dirty mouth is broadcast constantly has influenced many Americans who now feel free to express themselves with 4-letter words too.

but language doesn't bother me as much as people posting very personal details of their private lives on here, a completely public board available for anyone to read and any bots to crawl.

i.e. Alert on what you consider crude. There is a "no graphic content" rule at DU.

Personally, I don't consider the post you mentioned as crude because it shows Trump's mouth, NOT a pig's anus. (I know...it's easy to mix those two things up.)
