AZ-06: Democratic challenger Mendoza outraises Tucson Rep. Ciscomani (R) in 1st quarter

Democratic congressional candidate JoAnna Mendoza outraised Republican U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani by a more than 2-1 margin in the first quarter of 2026.

While Ciscomani had more cash on hand at the end of the reporting period, Mendoza pulled in nearly as much as the two-term incumbent.

Mendoza raised $2.4 between Jan. 1 and March 31, according to the latest quarterly campaign finance reports, which were due April 15. She had $3.5 million on hand at the end of the reporting period.

In a recent interview with the Tucson Sentinel, Mendoza called the fundraising totals “great news that allows us to get the message out. But I think what's more important is that this is a manifestation of the frustration, the betrayal, and, quite frankly, the lies that people are tired of, and it's showing up in them supporting candidates who actually want to serve people and not themselves."
