Mr. senseandsensibility is a liberal's liberal and a much better human being than I could ever be. He taught me to be a liberal and a progressive. For him, it comes from the heart, not the head. He is different than me in many ways, and consumes almost no political content because he doesn't see the point. He knows the truth and he knows what's right. This morning he shared his favorite hymn with me "Oh Happy Day" on youtube because I said that I couldn't place it. Beautiful. That's my guy. He may look like the average white trump dude, but he is the exact opposite, and I am so lucky to have him.
So you may be thinking, what's the point? That is if you're still reading this.
Well. my hubby is HAPPY. He's optimistic. He knows about the results in VA last night and the AP-NORC poll that shows trump's approval at twenty two percent with Independents from yesterday (how could he not? He lives with me)
and he's HAPPY ABOUT that.
So you know what? I'm taking a page from his book and allowing myself to feel that way too. Anyone want to join me?

(25,251 posts)One thing I have noticed is how many talking heads, even on MSNOW, try to depress Dem enthusiasm. Constant warnings not to get too "giddy" about the results in VA last night or our chances in the midterms. Funny how no one scolds Rs like that.

(5,446 posts)Over the years I would say what's the point, my partner and I already know about politics. Deeply. I've sworn several times to stop reading about it and instead consume only poetry and fiction. Yet I come back again and again. (I've been here since 2002 reading about ... politics!)
