i.e. reading scripture as a unified story of divine redemption centered on Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection

Somehow I think this America Reads the Bible stunt falls a bit short of that admonition

They tried to convince churches that Jimmy Carter was going to make Southern Baptist the state religion and that Reagan was a man of God. In the early 1990s they contemplated rewriting the Bible to get rid of Jesus. Well Jesus's teachings.
