Gas to be diluted from May. Here's who is impacted

Donald Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced last month that it will allow U.S. refiners and retailers to supply two gasoline blends with more ethanol than usually allowed in the summer season – E15 and E10.

While E10, a gasoline blend mixed with 10 percent ethanol, is widely available across the country, the waiver for E15, a blend of gasoline mixed with 15 percent ethanol, will only impact a limited number of people. Newsweek has broken down where this may be.

Why It Matters

The EPA’s decision to temporarily allow wider summer sales of E15 gasoline is being framed as a nationwide effort to ease fuel costs—but its real-world impact is likely to be more limited and uneven.

It comes as ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has disrupted transit through the crucial Strait of Hormuz, has caused crude oil prices to jump over $100 per barrel since the U.S. and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran on February 28.

Won't matter for much as far as the price goes.

I guess the simple answer would be anyone buying E15 at one of the 3,000 gas stations equipped to dispense it and have been offering it seasonly? I guess the answer is you know if you know.

Mine cannot. In fact:

Toyota has stated that their warranties do not cover problems caused by using E15, and it may void warranty coverage.

Lawsuits in the making, but they will be ignored, so do your homework and check!

Tell me in my owners manual that Ethanol-free gasoline is recommended for owners wanting to enjoy the best engine performance and mileage. I'll continue following their instructions.

Usually off to the side and mostly used for lawn mowers and boats. Last time I bought some it was at least $1 per gallon more than regular at the main pumps.

If I'm forced to by circumstance, I would just use premium.
