WATCH IT: "Nuremberg" on Netflix

While I was out yesterday running errands and at doc's appointment, wife watched "Nuremberg" on Netflix. After breakfast this morning she would not let me do anything else until I sat down and watched it.

YOU NEED TO SEE IT.

One of the central characters is Hitler's #2 Hermann Goehring who time and again reinforces the central theme of the movie -- which is: The Nazi take-over and rule of Germany was not an aberration. We all have within us the hatred and the evil necesary for a Hitler to rise and rule anywhere.

Many of the Goehring character's responses to questions from the Nuremberg Court as well as in his conversations with the Allied psychiatrist are the same language we hear coming from Trump and his followers. One of the Goehring character's comments about the Weimar Republic -- overthrown by Hitler -- could have come directly from Trump -- Goehring: "Weimar was weak and pathetic . . . "; Trump: "Biden is a weak, pathetic man."

I don't know if the developers of the movie intended it this way but that's the way it turned out.

Watch it.

Russell Crowe was especially great - and convincingly creepy - as Göring.

Unlike Judgement at Nuremberg (also quite good), this one is based on the writings of that psyschiatrist and his interactions with the real Goering.

I really wish we could get more Gen-Z (and Millennials) to see it.
