But there’s no other way to get from the UK to the US for my nephew’s graduation in June.

If it weren’t my nephew's high school graduation, I wouldn’t come at all. But he’s my godson.

It's a much longer trip, and costs. But it is a regularly scheduled alternative.

I need to swap visas when I return and also my partner has cancer, so I have to get back quite quickly. It’s a cluster. I’d wanted to hop over for a quick visit earlier in the year, and my mum said it wasn’t worth the stress and worry if something were to go sideways…
At worst I can fly to Canada and then have family come get me as it’s not too far over the border.

An extra day of train travel to avoid US airports is beginning to sound more appealing than flying from the US.
