Ron Johnson: Mullin "owns a ranch. Elections matter."

CUOMO: 'Good guy' is not good enough when it comes to running a govt agency. Would you say the same thing if he was going to run the Fed?

RON JOHNSON: He's succeeded at everything in life. He owns a ranch. Elections matter.

2. If Ron Johnson isn't the dumbest member of the Senate, he's certainly a competitor for that position.

3. Now that Markwayne's leaving the Senate to become a Trump henchman, Ron's probably in the lead for the top spot.

Tommy Tuberville would give him a run for his money, though.

Senator Football McDumbass is certainly in the running, but he might be a touch smarter than Markwayne.

at this point, with Oklahoma Crude moving on up, Ron Johnson is the Titleist of Senate Stupidness. Hard on his heels, Blackburn, and let us see who ends up being named to replace the current Most Stupid Senator.

It is rare very rare to pluck a sitting Senator for a Cabinet level position.

Somebody wanted him out of the way for some reason.

The concern tends to be only when the Senator is from a state where the governor is the other party and has no restrictions on who he can nominate.

A plus is that Senators are very likely to easily confirm fellow Senators. Look how easily Rubio was confirmed versus almost all other Trump nominations.

On lack of relevant background alone, if Mullin were not a Senator, I doubt this would even be close. His story that as a Senator he was sent to Navy training and then on a covert mission where he can't say where he went is so strange he should have been rejected when he doubled down on that story. That he wouldn't apologize for his comment on Paul and his other comment on punching people in the face sometimes being needed shows he does not have the temperament to head the organization.

Ignoring the separation of power, if the CIA or another intelligence agency needed someone wouldn't they pick someone with military experience? I can think of NO advantage to an agency to the person being a Congressman.

because daddy started a plumbing business and built it up before he took it over. He’s another one who was born on third base believing he hit a triple.
