(13,359 posts)If you look closely, whoever did the cartoon put Fetterman in Kirsten Sinemas weird yellow dress that DU posters made fun of at that time. She was known as a fashion catastrophe and Fetterman is being targeted for adopting her right wing bullshit.

(7,317 posts)It has nothing to do with transphobia.
It is a mock of another Democratic turncoat, Kyrsten Sinema.
And she was much more than a fashion catastrophe, she was an opportunist who stabbed our party in the back. I know, I worked on her campaign. And I worked even harder to get rid of her after her abysmal behaviour in the Senate.
I have a lot of sympathy for Fetterman for his health issues, but not a bit of sympathy for his betrayal of our principles.
Sinema was a circus clown. Fetterman is now in that zone.

(1,658 posts)There are many other ways to make the point without stooping to the "she-male" trope and insult.

(1,658 posts)Isn't that clever? Let's make fun of him by giving him a woman's body! Look! Someone emasculated him by making him a woman! A "she-male" a trans-man/trans-woman hybrid, eh? That'll put him in his place! So funny! Ha ha ha!
The great care some folks are taking to defend, or make excuses for this shit, reveals that they actually do understand how offensive it is.

(16,151 posts)I just think there are better ways to criticize him. The Sinema connection doesn't doesn't make it better for me.

(1,658 posts)As long as the "tranny" jokes and "she-male" jokes/insults/slurs/insinuations are made against people we generally dislike, that that makes it all okay? Is that the message?
Figures. What BS. Spare me. 🙄

Elected Democrats are always right and we should not be speaking poorly of them or support people that do.
