After all, he claimed he destroyed Iran's nuclear program and has claimed the war is over.

But then again, he makes a lot of bullshit claims.

So which is which? 100% is the same as totally finished. Why does he need help??

10 Countries. 0 Warships.

Trump went hat in hand to the world after he imposed illegal tariffs on their goods, insulted and demeaned them, saying they took advantage of the US while they only do commerce with whoever wants to buy their products, including customers in the US. The world checked its phone and put it back in its pocket.

France said no. Officially. In writing. Germany said nothing, which is German for no. Norway said no. The UK is “discussing options with allies,” which is British for no. Japan stayed silent while 70% of its Middle East oil supply sits behind a minefield. South Korea watched Washington and Tehran play chicken with its own energy supply and declined to pick a side. China called it a sovereign right and hung up. Qatar didn’t just refuse. Qatar stopped production entirely and declared force majeure. Their energy minister did not mince words: this will bring down economies of the world.

Iran is still there. Still attacking ships. Still laying mines. Still holding the strait.

The most powerful military on Earth sent out the call. Ten countries heard it. The result is a number that requires no commentary: zero.

This is what the end of American power looks like in practice. A request for warships that came back empty. Washington spent decades telling the world that the US-led order was worth defending. The world has moved away from the US.

Justice matters.

"US president bothsides in defense of Russian aid to Iran."

That's one I didn't see coming.

"Who could possibly blame Russia for helping Iran? The US helped Ukraine."

Even if it's a valid argument, it really shouldn't be coming from the US president.

It's blood, and every body needs blood to function. They don't want the US "securing" the strait any more than they want Iran "securing" it. They'll show up, but for self-interest, not for his threats. There are practical concerns.

The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognized by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations...

Nope. Nothing in there about bailing a NATO member out of a war in the Middle East that THEY STARTED.

GFY, Trump.

33. MaddowBlog-After alienating allies and declaring victory, Trump 'demands' foreign help in war

Foreign countries haven’t exactly rushed to answer the American president’s call for assistance. Imagine that.

So to sum up:
1. Trump alienates/insults allies
2. he launches an unnecessary war with no international legitimacy
3. he declares war “over,” dismisses need for allies’ help
4. he sees the war go sideways
5. he “demands” allies help us solve a problem he said doesn’t exist

https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/after-alienating-allies-and-declaring-victory-trump-demands-foreign-help-in-war

During the first week of the war in Iran, multiple British news outlets reported that the HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier was preparing for possible deployment to the Middle East to assist the United States and Israel. Seven days into the conflict, however, Donald Trump, who has a habit of insulting and alienating our closest allies, used his social media platform to deliver a message to leaders in the U.K.: Don’t bother.

“The United Kingdom, our once Great Ally, maybe the Greatest of them all, is finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East,” the American president wrote. “That’s OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don’t need them any longer — But we will remember. We don’t need people that join Wars after we’ve already won!”...

After claiming in an NBC News interview that unnamed countries had already committed to helping secure the strait — a dubious assertion, given the circumstances and available information — the Republican “demanded” that foreign nations step up and provide the U.S. with the kind of security assistance he recently said was unnecessary.

Trump on Strait of Hormuz: "Really, I'm demanding that these countries come in and protect their own territory, because it is their territory ... they should help us. You could make the case that maybe we shouldn't be there at all, because we don't need it. We have a lot of oil."

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2026-03-16T01:05:29.715Z

.....Indeed, the series of events seems preposterous. After spending the last year alienating U.S. allies, Trump launched an unnecessary war with no international legitimacy. He then prematurely declared victory, while simultaneously dismissing the need for international assistance, all while characterizing the Strait of Hormuz as a problem that’s already been solved.

It was at this point that the same American president, without explanation, turned on a dime and started demanding assistance from the same countries he’s insulted to address a problem he’s claimed doesn’t exist.

Foreign countries haven’t exactly rushed to answer Trump’s call for help, and Australian and Chinese officials have already rejected U.S. outreach. Imagine that.

is going to do? Threaten more tariffs? Thought SP court said no to that. Bomb them? Don’t think that’s a great idea. You promised not to get us into wars, but you have already broken that promise.
