So the latest reason for the war is "energy independence"

Are you buying this fifteenth or sixteenth or who's counting reason for the war or the "excursion" (take your pick)? Nah, me neither.

New Nation was running a chyron that said that the Iran War is costing taxpayers one billion a day. Mike Flood (R) came on and said that there would be sacrifices and he didn't want to discount them, but it was worth it for us to achieve "energy independence".

So no more regime change or self defense from nuclear weapons. That's so yesterday. Now it's "energy independence". Got it?

...that because of him, America achieved energy independence in his first term?
So, we were energy independent, then the US started pumping more oil, and we lost that independence?
