One year we went to visit my great relatives at the family compound by Cheat Mountain in West Virginia ( they called it Location). Anyway we went to church with them. Tiny little place, and we being family were stuck in the front row. My mom's family had disowned her for marrying a foreigner, my dad a first generation Italian-American. Anyway he "earned" their respect . Well, my sister and I were scared to death from them calling us heathens and how we had to be cleaned, Yada. Yada. Yada. My Dad didn't go so I ran out and ran back to my Great Aunts house where he was. He told me they were all crazy. I thought the Catholic church was bad with all the lies in the sermons and the genuflecting and kneeling and stuff. To be raised in that had to really suck.

What we are living through is the result of misguided people believing crap!
