I feel like this is just like the beginning phases of Covid.

He keeps telling us things will be OK and over soon. We don’t hear from anyone else. And we all know how that ended.

And on Friday the 13th six years ago, at least around where I live, that's the day the bottom dropped out. What followed was school closings, lockdowns, death counts, and the beginning what of came to be known as doomscrolling. So I'm staring at my calendar now and wondering, "What the hell's going to happen this time?"
