Nixon was my first hated Republican! The Vietnam years were excruciating (the boy who sat behind me in 7th grade was killed). Watergate! Going through those horrible, nightmare feelings now is just as bad, as it was then. The GOP doesn't seem to notice what we the people are experiencing....they are very self-centered!

during the Eisenhower administration. I was just a kid, but sometimes kids are pretty good judges of a person's character, and Nixon wore his crookedness on his sleeve.
When he debated Kennedy it was sooooo apparent. How anyone in their right mind could vote for that worm is far beyond my imagination.

Much stemming from their screwy religious cults. lots of angry incels who failed the sexual revolution and missed out on 'the summer of love'. generational hate coupled with weak, rigid minds.

He wore an old Derby Hat, had a long pointy grey goatee, smoke surrounding him from a fat stogie he always had going (I mean those big big fat cigars) and the first real life brass flask I'd ever seen that he'd take swigs off of (and let us 8 year olds have a nip every now and then) and he had a low Jack Nicholson type voice. He was ALWAYS riding around or sitting in his big old low riding jet black 63 Thunderbird with the radio always tuned to the local jazz station and never went over 20mph, on purpose just to piss people off. I thought he was the coolest adult (besides my parents) I'd ever met. Every time he would leave when us kids were in the yard he'd get in the car, light up that stogie and holler at us. He would give each one of us a quarter and say remember this the rest of your life you little Yard Apes......

FUCK THOSE FUCKING REPUBLICAN COCKSUCKERS

And have spent the entirety of the 3+ decades since completely mystified how this country indulges their bullshit - and how they have incrementally sunk lower and lower over that time with the country somehow giving them more and more power.

Sorry, not us, but this is who "we" are ...

He was an Annapolis graduate and most of his career served on old-school diesel submarines, which he allowed us to tour once in the mid sixties... they are way smaller that you imagine, btw.

He and my mother got into knock-down drag out fights over Nixon at Christmas, but I still remember him very fondly. He never married or had children, but had a "girlfriend" who he cared for through all the years of her breast cancer treatments, improvements, relapse, until her death.

He was one of the good ones and would have hated, ABSOLUTED HATED, the orange shitstain.

I'm almost glad he's gone and not a witness to recent events and this timeline.

Whether it was Jimmy Swaggart, Rush Limbaugh, Rupert Murdoch, Sean Hannity, Infowars, Charlie Kirk, Andrew Tate, the list goes on.

The worst part is that people voluntarily choose to consume this garbage. It's total brain rot.

And the current state of the GOP can be traced back to one man - Rupert Murdoch. He and his shitty propaganda outlet is the reason why the United States is in the mess that it's in. Fox News is a terrorist organization.

They were just average people not influencers, extremely online or players or party people.
I disagreed completely with their politics as an environmentalist and scientist would.

But they were nice people. I try to never meet anyone elite above the nicest type of elite scientist level..Those people are awful.

I have very populist instincts..I always blame politicians, billionaires, influencers, celebrities and the media/journalists. Not average voters. With this shit media environment and these pseudo elite parasites psyoping the world this long people have shit politics. I agree it is very frustrating especially as more stuff breaks.
But purely from the standpoint of a fix the problem has to be correctly identified.

Scientists and doctors (not those Google/MIT Media Lab advertising social engineering bullshitter types) are in a separate professional category I belong to when not a torches and pitchforks bearing solitary villager..Like Dr Fauci, Peter Kalmus, Adam Becker, my colleagues, Prof Lecun etc

The MIT Lab is creepy and not in any science community I would want to know.

Similarly I just realized thinking back what always struck me as off about the way Russia and China are affecting reality. They are both totally sleazy as are all players anywhere (US, India, Europe, Saudi Arabia..players are always creeps).

But I do not believe influence is as real as ransomware and these thugs using that to extort us all. Russia is a source of lots of ransomware. And with all sorts of creeps looking at porn and the worst kinds of porn like underage stuff is probably used by these climbing parasitic type.
There would be stuff like the Tyler Valenti stuff that worries even me. He was this gay kid who committed suicide.
But no one would be bothered about that and that can no longer be a reason to risk these guys launching a nuke.
It is why I am unloading all my lame “secrets” (I am fine with..actually I hope they have kept any and all illicit data they gathered from me..I suspect they won’t try to use it ..but they should. I enjoy mocking people..But still strategically, as I want the parts of this corrupt and criminal crew that made my life hell in two countries and stupidly colluded and failed to get what character and principles actually are.. things I usually pretend not to have since it sounds like something a moral pill would have…oh well)

I am very confident in anyone ..admittedly very few and well known or adequately known and taken on trust (I am not Google..I have no wish to only trust people after going through their personal drawers..did it never occur to them that what they thought was rule followint was a “test” they failed as the rest of us miserably self policed our various insecurities?)
That was a hellish 14 years..
