Today we celebrate the birthday anniversary of the man who brought us the grand theory of evolution, a cornerstone of scientific thought. Charles Darwin was born Feb. 12, 1809 (a birthdate shared with Abraham Lincoln). His seminal work, The Origin of Species, sparked a great divide between science and religion, and the debate still rages today, as some religious believers still refuse to acknowledge the modern body of knowledge that underpins the evolutionary idea Darwin gave us. So today, celebrate the man who gave us the tool to undo the shackles of religion-enforced ignorance, and embrace the enlightening idea of a dynamic world.

to go to the Galapagos in January, and go to the Charles Darwin Research Center.
That had to be a marvelous experience! (I'm insanely jealous!
