In 2025 open missing persons cases in the United States = 25,544.How much press do all these people get?
I am not insensitive to Nancy's situation, it is just out of balance.

(9,350 posts)So, if Nancy was abducted as punishment to her daughter for reporting about the Epstein victims. That could be possible with this regime.
I still don't understand the over-reporting about her kidnapping.
Although, they JUST finally found the door camera video. Just!
Oh way to go FBI.

(1,312 posts)Just wanted to point out that they would have watched that video in a lab hundreds or thousands of times before releasing it to the public

(5,599 posts)We saw the same thing for other cases like JonBenét Ramsey and Laci Peterson.
Im quite sure the newspapers and radio did the same thing back in the day for other notable crimes.

(4,370 posts)The media is seldom about news. It is almost always about selling stuff. More readers, more ads, more profit.
No one in this world, so far as I know and I have researched the records for years, and employed agents to help me has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby. H.L.Mencken

(9,350 posts)I don't do it often and just to catch some stories I am following.
Today I turned on the evening news and couldn't get away from the Nancy story, no matter what channel I switched to. They just kept going on and on.
I turned off the TV.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
