CA-11: Wiener (D) held large lead in campaign fundraising, records show

State Sen. Scott Wiener took a commanding lead in fundraising late last year in the race to succeed U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, according to the latest campaign finance disclosures.

As the candidates hurtle toward a June primary in California's 11th Congressional District, which covers most of San Francisco, at least two have already collected campaign cash in seven figures.

Wiener had raised more than $1.75 million in the fourth quarter of 2025 alone, according to data through Dec. 31 published by the Federal Election Commission. The total the campaign had received to date was more than $2.78 million, leaving $2.27 million in cash on hand at the end of the year.

Wiener, who formed a committee in 2023 to explore a possible congressional run, had already raised $1 million through Sept. 30 before he officially announced his campaign for Congress on Oct. 22.
