Whose Dignity Matters? - A Joint Letter from 154 Bishops of The Episcopal Church

Jan 31, 2026

Over 154 bishops of The Episcopal Church offer a letter concerning the recent actions of ICE in Minnesota and across the country. Rooted in their call as followers of Jesus and as Episcopalians, the bishops call for a suspension of ICE activities, independent investigations of the recent killings of protesters, and for elected officials to uphold the rule of law.

Ice needs to start attending their worship services and disappearing as many of these insurrectionists as possible.

For so long I wondered where our faith leaders were in this fight. Where were their voices of conscience?

Now we know.

They're here. They're in the streets being arrested and pepper-sprayed. They're linking arms with their communities. Their participation runs across all faiths and denominations.

Good one on them.

Walking the walk. It matters.
