I just got done shopping for supplies for my truck at the Pahrump Walmart:
12 Months ago, during the last days of Pres. Biden's Administration, what cost me less than $150.00, is now costing me a whopping $225.+.
For those RW lunatics and MAGAt's monitoring this site, that's a $75.00 increase since Pedonald was "elected" president, so, my ? to you is this:
Pedonald has had 11 months, going on 12, to improve the economy, bring down prices on every thing, yet, prices have only increased, especially in the red states, cities and counties, and, too my astonishment, (well, not really) you still continue to support this tyrant, so I ask,
are you still supporting this fucking criminal, loser?
I'll await with bated breath.

(52,419 posts)People are watching their money disappear.
.... the best data we have on this is from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. They actually just released a report on this this year. Their most recent data is that about 21% of people are using buy now, pay later.

(7,731 posts)Preorder Status: Preorders are still being accepted on the Trump Mobile website for a $100 deposit, with the remaining $399 to be charged upon shipment.
Availability: The phone has not been delivered to customers, and the release date on the official website has been changed to a vague "later this year". News outlets that placed preorders months ago have not received the device.
"Made in USA" Claim: The initial claim that the phone would be "proudly designed and built in the United States" has largely been removed from the website. The current language is vaguer, such as "American-Proud Design". Industry experts are highly skeptical of the "Made in USA" claim, believing the phone is likely a re-branded Chinese-made device, as the U.S. lacks the supply chain for a fully domestic smartphone at that price point.
Product Details: The phone is described as a gold-colored Android device with mid-range specifications, including a 6.78-inch AMOLED display and a 50MP camera.
In essence, the phone exists as a preorder option, but the physical product has not materialized months past its initially announced release dates.

"I inherited the worst inflation in history," Trump said during his Cabinet meeting. "There was no affordability. Nobody could afford anything. The prices were massively high."
Trump praised his administration for bringing prices down, even as millions of Americans continue to struggle to afford housing and grocery prices remain high.
"The word 'affordability' is a con job by the Democrats," Trump said.

(17,322 posts)while at the same time, they fucking well know that their paychecks, Social Security payment, retirement pay, etc., doesn't buy nearly what it did just 11 months ago.
Maybe I'm not getting the picture here, but how does one vote against their best interests?

brainwashed into believing all Ds are evil and they hate us.
If a Democratic President raised taxes on the wealthiest people and doubled everyone's Social Security
monthly check, FQX would find a way to turn it into a big negative.

LOL, that was larger than it looked

(3,534 posts)but this sadistic a-hole keeps spewing lies and mistruths daily (between his cabinet meeting naps). I get some satisfaction knowing those morons are sweating the boat issue, illegal persecutors, special election results and the 8 wars that trump has solved. Just sick of it all and will settle for the status quo any day.

(23,250 posts)Because as a small business owner I have to buy my own health insurance for my family, and today I found out that my monthly premium is going up by (no joke) 90% next year.
Fortunately all those Trump dividends from the tariffs are going to start kicking in any day now, right?
..right?

(35,302 posts)where the partners do subsidize staff somewhat (higher premiums for partners, so staff isn't totally screwed) ... everything went up this year. I asked him about it, and he had a dollar amount in the thousands - which was overall and included both the health and life insurance policies.
The working class got hit first, and now it's both small and medium business owners/professionals.

With the exception of what went to Yasha Levine alone I am furious about the amount of money that scammy Substack took from me.
Levine aside, that should have gone to DU or stayed in my pocket.
The time, money and resources lost to these parasitic and predatory forces is outrageous.
Its not that the other writers I followed there werent good. They were all decent and left leaning, but I highly doubt I would have handed money to something that douchey were I my normal self. Its hard to explain, but the predatory tech industry has a lot to answer for.
There really is a serious need for organization against all these forces. I am certainly always down with any serious organized pushback.
Not for me directly, but what I support. I have to separately find my own feet. Thats a separate hell. Its not the bootstraps crap, but I have to help myself the same way. But I do need a civilized society not a predatory fascistic one analogous to PRC or Russia or Saudi Arabia etc.
But society has been conned by these technofascists. Flawed democracy has flaws these parasitic guys thoroughly exploited.

(114,314 posts)because I've been watching what has happened to my grocery bill. I also have a small appliance on its last legs and ppriced a replacement for after the holidays and almost had a stroke.
And that fat orange son of a bitch said affordability is some kind of scam.
I hope that bloated, ignorant, decaying SOB keeps saying such stupid and heartless stuff. While I'm lucky enough to be able to afford his bungling (so far), most of my friends and neighbors can't.
It will be a very long 3 years. I just hope people learn their lesson and keep the Republicans on the back benches (metaphoricallY) for at least the next couple of decades until this iteration of their stupidity is retired or dead. Their dumbass ideas will be with us as long as plutocrates endow economics chairs but at least we can get some political breathing room.

I suppose the upside of a $72. filet is you eat less beef?
It's crazy. Just crazy. I was in London right before Thanksgiving and a cocktail at the hotel bar was 18 GBP, or at the current exchange rate about $24. One cocktail!

Last time I was there, 30ish years ago, it was a tiny backwater with a brothel.
I was delivering office supplies from the state and federal food staples to a community center that served lunches for seniors. ( I still remember the little sign at the beginning of the food serving line. Today's choices: Take it or leave it!)

(9,752 posts)They are still riding high over the fact that they have a fellow racist and asshole administration in the White House. He enables them to behave in ways that, in the past, would have probably gotten them arrested. Nowadays, they get to just be evil without restriction.
And, they love it. So, they will be voting for him every time, as long as he allows them to continue to be unabashed bigots.
(There is also the 'blame game' which allows these slugs to blame 'others' for their own stupid mistakes and misfortunes. After all, it is always someone else's fault.)
