Social Security COL adjustment

I went on my Social Security account last night. Suppose I should be happy that the 2.8 % COL adjustment is only 2.5% net after the increase in the premium taken out for Medicare, and not less!

During the 2008 austerity years, many got nothing!
Gratitude is always recommended, but saying that makes me think of the guys in chains singing “Always look on the bright side of life” from Monty Python and the Holy Grail 😆

Both are good satires. And you’re right about the sentiment.

Please, sir, may I have some more? Tupence for the poor. I hate the Greedy Old Pedos.

You are right- both movies were great. I remember that I saw Monty Python and the Holy Grail with girlfriends and we sat through it twice! But I saw it a third time a few weeks later with my then-boyfriend and he didn’t think it was funny. So you know that our relationship didn’t last! If you don’t share the same sense of humor, you are just not compatible! 😆

went up over 30%, and the CEO of my supplement plan is making 31 million a year. That's approximately 615 thousand dollars a WEEK.

My supplemental premium went up a lot last year. Increase for next year hasn't been posted yet on the retirement survivor benefit that funds it.

Not much, but I figure it's that much I didn't have before, and at least it won't push me into a higher tax bracket.

I had to start taking RMD's from my IRA last year and I was hoping that wouldn't push me into a higher tax bracket. The brackets have been adjusted again for this year.
